What is Hijama?

Hijama, or wet cupping, is a Sunnah-recommended therapy in which small incisions are made on the skin and suction cups are used to draw out stagnant blood. It is believed to support circulation, relieve tension, and promote overall wellbeing.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ encouraged Hijama as one of the best forms of treatment. At Healing Quran, every session is performed by trained therapists using single-use, sterile equipment in a clean and private environment.

إِنَّ أَمْثَلَ مَا تَدَاوَيْتُمْ بِهِ الْحِجَامَةُ

"The best of remedies you have is cupping (Hijama)." — Sahih al-Bukhari 5696

Hijama FAQs

Answers to what people most often ask before their first session.

?Is Hijama painful?

Most clients describe a mild pinching sensation during the incisions, followed by gentle suction. It is generally well-tolerated and far less painful than people expect.

?Is it safe and hygienic?

Yes. We use single-use, sterile cups and blades for every client, and all therapists are trained in proper hygiene and safety protocols.

?How often should I get Hijama done?

For general wellness, many clients come every 4–6 weeks, or seasonally. Your therapist can recommend a schedule based on your specific needs.

?Are there any after-effects?

Mild bruising or marks at the cupping sites are normal and typically fade within a week. You will receive full aftercare instructions after your session.
